Erik Truffaz Quartet feat. Rokia Traoré - Jazz à la Villette
Erik Truffaz Quartet feat. Rokia Traoré Erik Truffaz, trumpet Rokia Traoré, song Benoît Corboz, claviers Marcello Giuliani, bass Arthur Hnatek, drum kit Is it still necessary to present him?. A Slender figure, straight hair with a white beard, Erik Truffaz has marked the history of European jazz with at least two albums: The Dawn and Bending New Corners. Hip-hop, jungle rhythms and a timbre similar to that of Miles Davis: a cocktail that you just can't get enough of. The Swiss trumpet player, who has often taken an interest in non-western music, is making a comeback today - after a series of more pop style records with various singers including Sophie Hunger - this time with a new recording which is looking towards Africa: Doni Doni. Clearly in love with women's voices, he has invited Malian singer Rokia Traoré into the studio, who will of course be there for this stylistically very open-minded evening. Recorded on Sptember, 2016 at the Festival Jazz à la Villette TV Director, Giuseppe De Vecchi.
